Watch: Impact Of Toss Tampering Claim? Sam Curran Checks Coin Result Himself vs Mumbai Indians

The ongoing IPL 2024 was hit by toss tampering claims as several fans alleged that the result of the coin toss was changed by match referee Javagal Srinath with during the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The claims were debunked by social media users who provided video proof against the claims. While fans have provided evidence both for and against the claim on social media, the subject once again came to the forefront during MI’s match against Punjab Kings on Thursday. Following the coin toss, PBKS stand-in skipper Sam Curran walked forward and checked the result himself before the coin was picked up by the match referee.

The broadcasters also decided to zoom in on the result and show clearly that PBKS had won the toss and they opted to field.

“We will have a bowl. Keeping up with the trend of the tournament. Shikhar is not well, so that’s the only injury and Rilee comes in for Jonny today. It is not nice to lose the close games but we are doing a lot of things right. (Atharva) Taide drops out of the side, just a couple of tactical changes,” Curran said.

This is not the first time when the toss tampering claims made headlines as a video showing a conversation between Faf and Pat Cummins had several fans convinced that they were talking about the coin flip.
